"What surprised me wasn't the cost. It was how difficult it was just to find options."
When I was planning my wedding, I wanted to rent specific cars. A Rolls-Royce Cullinan in grey. Simple enough request. But there was no single place to search. I ended up bouncing between Google results, Instagram pages, event listings and enquiry forms. Every company worked differently. Pricing was opaque, comparison was impossible.
For something as time-critical as a wedding, the process was genuinely stressful. The cars existed. The businesses were out there. I just couldn't find them.
What struck me was this: when I want to buy a car, I go straight to AutoTrader. I don't think about which dealerships exist. I just search for the car. That experience simply doesn't exist for renting one.
Around the same time, I spoke to rental businesses who were spending heavily on ads and Instagram just to be discovered and still receiving low-quality enquiries. They had great cars but not everyone could find them.
HireWheels was built from that gap. Not to replace rental businesses or control their bookings. but to give them the same discovery platform that car dealerships already have. To become the place people start when they want to rent a car.
